Funeral services for Madelyn Kennedy will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial will be in the Pine Cemetery in rural Mercer County.

Funeral services for Madelyn Kennedy will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial will be in the Pine Cemetery in rural Mercer County.

A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at the mortuary.

Mrs. Kennedy, a 64-year-old resident of Trenton died on Monday, May 8, 2006, at her residence in the Plaza Apartments.

Mrs. Kennedy was born on March 13, 1942 in Princeton, the daughter of Vernon David and Pauline Vanderpool Baker. She grew up in Mercer County and lived most of her life in Mercer and Grundy counties. She was married on July 21, 1986 at Modena to Jackie Earl Kennedy, who preceded her in death on July 6, 1993. She worked as a certified nursing aide for the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.

She is survived by seven children, Jake Baker and his wife, Audrey, of Edinburg, Woody O’Neil and his wife, Michele, of Lee’s Summit, Darla DeVaul of Kansas City, Bobbie Morales and her husband, Albert, of Cainsville, and Johnna Simpson and her husband, Jason, Jacky Kennedy and his wife, Chrystal, and Sheila Imgarten, all of Trenton; two sisters, Evelyn Blattner of Cedar Rapids, IA and Phyllis Swigart of Trenton; two brothers, Larry Baker of Princeton and Jerry Baker of Cedar Rapids; and 20 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Bob Baker.
