Vera N. Strauser, an 88-year-old resident of Converse, TX and former Trenton resident passed away at 5 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at the Vitas Hospice Inpatient Unit in San Antonio, TX.

Vera N. Strauser, an 88-year-old resident of Converse, TX and former Trenton resident passed away at 5 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at the Vitas Hospice Inpatient Unit in San Antonio, TX.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Pastor Barry Boulware will officiate. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
A scheduled visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to funeral time.
Mrs. Strauser was born on March 2, 1918 in Mercer County, the daughter of Oral and Grace Campbell Holt. She was married in August 1944 in Sara, OK to William L. Stauser, who preceded her in death. She moved to Texas in May 2003.
She was a member of the Newtown Christian Church and attended the Wesley United Methodist Church in Trenton.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ellis, and Julio Roque of Converse, TX; great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Robert “Tyler” Gonzales and Coral and Matthew Busch; a brother-in-law, David Strauser and his wife, Iona, of Tucson, A.; nieces and nephews, Glendoris Crownover and her husband, Jack of Independence, Frank and Angie Weidner of Des Moines, IA, Deanna and Larry Kastens of Hereford, AZ and Dr. Garry and Pat Strauser of Rapid City, SD.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melissa Busch; two sisters, Edna Brown and Norma Weidner; and one brother, Roy Holt.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church of Trenton.
