A community Good Friday service is planned in Trenton as local and area churches prepare to celebrate the Easter holiday.

The Good Friday service will be held at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. A community choir, made up of choir members from the First Assembly, First Baptist, First Christian, St. Phillip’s Episcopal, Hodge Presbyterian and Wesley United Methodist churches will be performing the cantata “Behold the Lamb.” Handbell choirs from the Wesley United Methodist, First Christian and First Assembly of God churches will also play.

Other area church services planned for the Easter season include:

First Assembly of God Church – Easter communion service during regular morning worship service on Sunday, 10:40 a.m.

First Baptist Church at Trenton – Easter sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. with breakfast to follow in the fellowship hall. Easter worship service will be at 10:40 a.m.

First Christian Church at Trenton – Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m.; 24-hour prayer chain from noon on Friday until noon on Saturday; Easter sunrise service at 6:30 a.m., followed by breakfast at 7 a.m. Sunday school will be at 9:30 a.m. and worship will be at 10:30 a.m.

Galt Baptist Church – Worship service at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday.

Galt Christian Church – Good Friday service with communion at 7 p.m.; community “Sonrise” breakfast at 7 a.m. on Sunday, followed by “Sonrise” services at 8 a.m. Sunday school will be at 9 a.m. and worship at 10 a.m.

Hodge Presbyterian Church – Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m.; Sunday sunrise service at Moberly Park enclosed shelter house, 6:30 a.m., with breakfast to follow (bring a dish if you plan to attend); Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. with an Easter egg hunt for the children. Worship will be at 10:50 a.m.

Immanuel Lutheran Church – Maundy Thursday community service at 8 p.m.; Good Friday service at 8 p.m.; Easter sunrise service at 7 a.m. on Sunday, with a church breakfast to follow.

Rural Dale Baptist Church – Easter Sunday devotion will be at 7 a.m., followed by breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Sunday school will be at 8:30 a.m. and worship services will be at 9:45 a.m.

St. Philip’s Episcopal Church – Maundy Thursday service will be at 6 p.m. and the Good Friday service will be at 5:15 p.m. Easter Sunday services will be at 10:30 a.m.

South Evans Christian Church – Easter breakfast at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, followed by service at 10:45 a.m.

Spickard Baptist Church – Easter Sunday breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by worship at 9 a.m.

Tenth Street Baptist Church – Maundy Thursday service, 9 p.m., Good Friday service, 7 p.m.; sunrise service at Eastside Park at 7 a.m. on Sunday, followed by breakfast at the church at 8 a.m. Sunday school will be at 9:30 a.m. and the worship service, featuring the cantata, “A.D.,” will be at 10:30 a.m.

Tindall Christian Church – Easter breakfast at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, followed by church services at 9 a.m.

Wesley United Methodist Church – Maundy Thursday communion service at 7 p.m.; Sunday sunrise service at Moberly Park enclosed shelter house, 6:30 a.m., with breakfast to follow (bring a dish if you plan to attend; Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 10:30 a.m., featuring the choir’s annual cantata.
