Child Trivia Night, scheduled for Friday evening in conjunction with a basket auction and book fair.

Trenton Middle School students and some lucky adults will get to test their trivia knowledge at the annual TMS PTO Parent-Child Trivia Night, scheduled for Friday evening in conjunction with a basket auction and book fair.

The trivia night will begin at 6:30 p.m., with teams of up to six members competing for cash prizes. Two, but no more than three, members must be adults, with the rest of the members being students in grades eight or below. Four rounds of 10 questions each will be held, with one bonus question given in each round. Teams will have 30 seconds to submit their answer to each question. There will be a 10-minute break between rounds one and two and rounds three and four and a 30-minute intermission will be held between rounds two and three. This will allow team members to bid on baskets and purchase books from the book fair.

The first place team will receive $100, while the second place team will receive $75 and the third place team will receive $50.

There is still time for teams to register in the TMS office, however, the registration price increased to $30 after Wednesday.

The PTO will also host a buy-one, get-one-free book fair Friday evening. The book fair will be open from 3:15 to 8 p.m.

The annual spring basket auction will also be held, with some of the baskets to be auctioned including a family pass to the Trenton Family Aquatic Center, a large spa cabinet, sports items, kitchen and garden items, a travel bag and a custom skateboard. Mrs. Beck’s FACS classes have also made two black and gold fleece blankets and a primitive flag, which will be included in the auction.

In addition, the sixth grade “Hometown Heroes” projects will be on display on the Wall of Heroes during the event. Students chose a local resident as their hero, writing a letter to that person explaining why they were chosen and asking for a letter and photo in response. The letters, photo, photo of the student and other items are included on each student’s display.

Refreshments will be available during the event and the public is invited to attend any or all parts of the evening’s activities.
