The Spickard R-2 School District will hold its early childhood screenings on Friday, April 7 at the school.

Three- and four-year-olds residing in the district are eligible to participate in the screenings and parents will need to call the school at 485-6121 to schedule an appointment. Appointments will start at 8:30 a.m. and will take approximately 45 minutes. Areas to be screened include cognitive/intellectual ability adaptive behavior, academics, social skills and speech and language development.

Students must be four years old by Aug. 1 to enter preschool and five years old by Aug. 1 to enter kindergarten.

All parents with children in these age groups are encouraged to take advantage of the screening. Parents should bring their child’s Social Security card, birth certificate and shot records to the appointment.
