Trenton will again be the site for the Grundy County Living History Festival on March 31-April 2, which will include two Civil War re-enactments.

The event will be held at the city’s new industrial park site, located on NW 27th Street, just north of Highway 65 at the north end of the city. Several events are planned during the weekend, beginning with “School Day” on Friday, March 31. Students will be able to watch and talk with the re-enactors while their camps are being set up.

Saturday’s activities include a public tour of campsites from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the first of two battle re-enactments taking place at 3 p.m. A candlelight tour will be held that evening, weather permitting, from 7 to 9 o’clock. The cost of the tour is $10 per family, $7 per couple, $5 per adult and $3 for children ages six to 12. Children five years of age and under will be admitted free. Tickets will be available at the festival site during the day.

Campsites will re-open again for public viewing at 10 a.m. on Sunday and be open until 2 p.m. A second battle re-enactment is planned at 1 p.m.
