Shirley Gieseke Heinzler, a 54-year-old resident of rural Malta Bend, died on Saturday, March 18, 2006, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.

Shirley Gieseke Heinzler, a 54-year-old resident of rural Malta Bend, died on Saturday, March 18, 2006, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall.

Burial was in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall.  

Mrs. Heinzler was born on Aug. 20,  1951, in Marshall, the daughter of the late Melvin Gieseke and Adelma Fischer Gieseke. She had lived in Marshall most of her life and was a graduate of Concordia High School. She had worked at Tyson Foods in Concordia, Rival Manufacturing in Sweet Springs, Rose Acre Farms and was a cake decorator. She was a Lutheran.

She is survived by her parents of Sweet Springs; one daughter, Deena Van Steenburgh of Sweet Springs; two sons, Corey Heinzler and Andrew Heinzler both of Kansas City; two sisters, Mary Langewisch of Trenton and Colleen Dierking of Blackburn; her companion, J.R. Gilpin of the home; and several nephews.
