Robert Barton Straker, an 83-year-old resident of Cowgill, died at his home on Sunday, March 19, 2006.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at The Federated Church in Hamilton. Burial will be in the Martin Cemetery, north of Trenton.

A visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at the Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton.

Mr. Straker was born on April 13, 1922 in Trenton, the son of Ed and Beulah Blanchard Straker. He had lived in Cowgill since 1958. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Kingston Church of the Nazarene at Kingston and the Gideon’s International.

He was married on Feb. 9, 1941 in Trenton to Mary Prothero, who survives of the home.

He is also survived by three grandchildren, Valerie Davis and her husband, Tim, of Braymer, Randall Straker and his wife, Jeannette, of Cowgill, and Lanna Wing and her husband, Jeff, of Colorado Springs, CO; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Quentin of Trenton and Harold of Harlingen,TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Gary and Winton; and a brother, Gerald.

The family suggests memorials to the Kingston Church of the Nazarene building fund.
