Opal Callen, a 99-year-old resident of Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton, died at 10:50 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at the nursing home.

Opal Callen, a 99-year-old resident of Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton, died at 10:50 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at the nursing home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
An open visitation is now under way at the mortuary.
Mrs. Callen was born on July 10, 1906 at Powersville, the daughter of John Wesley and Julia Ann Moore Shepherd. She was married on Dec. 23, 1925 at Princeton to Vincil Cecil Callen, who preceded her in death in Feburary 1974. They moved to Trenton in 1965. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and the Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Baugher and her husband, Jud, of Trenton; a son, Kenneth Callen of Galt; a half-brother, Icem Shepherd of Red Oaks, CA; a half-sister, Mildred Craber of The Dalles, OR; four grandchildren, Debbie Whitney of Montgomery, TX, Mike Callen of Trenton, Tammy Snieder and her husband, Al, of St. Joseph and Scotty Callen of St. Joseph; 13 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Donnie Callen; two brothers, Robert and Orville Shepherd; two-half brothers, Coy and Cecill Shepherd; and three grandchildren, Randy Callen, Gary Baugher and Carrol Baugher.
