The Tri-County R-7 Board of Education met in regular session Wednesday evening, approving the 2006-2007 salary schedule and re-employing teachers.

According to information provided by Superintendent Mary Kish, the board approved the certified staff salary schedule, setting the base salary at $23,850. The vertical step was increased by $50.

The board also rehired the following non-tenured teachers for the 2006-2007 school year: Connie Critten, Jeremy Dodds, Peggy Farmer, Curtis Finley, Dan Germann, Chris Hodge, Russell Johnson, Shauna Liebendorfer, Kim Marshall, Nicole Robertson, Hilary Skinner, Sondra Sturguess, Rhonda Sweet and Richard Willett. Sponsorship assignments were also approved for the 2006-2007 school year.

The board also discussed the support staff salary schedule and will approve that schedule, as well as holidays, working hours and working days at the April board meeting.

Board members also discussed production records from the lunch program, which is a new procedure that allows for better tracking of revenues and expenditures for the lunch program.

Due to changes in the way the State Foundation Formula is funded, the district will be allowed more leeway in the spending of district funds. In order to plan for the next five to 10 years, the board opted to form a committee to evaluate the building needs of the district. The committee will consist of community patrons, students, administration and two board members. Rodney Odom and Stephanie Eckert were named as the board representatives.

In other business, the board approved policies pertaining to Parent Family Involvement in Instructional and Other Programs and approved a credit card for the district. The card will be used for purchases after a requisition and purchase order have been approved.

The board plans to attend the Missouri School Boards Association regional meeting in Trenton on April 19.
