Hospital Foundation Honors Local Doctors
Nearly 250 persons attended the Wright Memorial Hospital Foundation annual dinner held Saturday night at the Grundy County Senior Center in Trenton.
Two longtime Trenton physicians were honored for their service to area residents during the program. Dr. J.A. Keuhn and Dr. David Ryan have each provided medical care for over 30 years in the community and both recently retired from private practice. Both doctors continue to work in the emergency room at Wright Memorial.
Two employees of the hospital, Lu Littleton and Anna Ferguson, discussed the doctors accomplishments while working in the community and the doctors were also presented with gifts and plaques for their service by Wright Memorial Chief Executive Officer John Woodrich.
State Representative Jim Whorton also spoke and presented the doctors with Missouri House of Representatives resolutions recognizing their years of dedication and service to the community.
Woodrich gave an update on the activities of the foundation for the past year, noting the hospital has retained two companies to help the hospital study its facility needs for the future.
ACI Boland Architects and J.E. Dunn Construction will help determine what facility improvements will need to be made in order for the hospital to be able to meet the health care needs of area residents in the future. It is hoped a report on those needs will be available later this year.
The featured speaker for the evening was Dr. Stuart Robertshaw from LaCrosse, WI. He presented a program on how to prevent humor impairment.
