Blanche Peters, an 88-year-old resident of the Sunnyview Nursing Home at Trenton, died at 7:25 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006 at the nursing home, where she had resided since Nov. 7, 2003.

Blanche Peters, an 88-year-old resident of the Sunnyview Nursing Home at Trenton, died at 7:25 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006 at the nursing home, where she had resided since Nov. 7, 2003.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, 2006 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Trenton. Burial will be in the Grundy Center Cemetery, east of Trenton.
There is no scheduled family visitation. General visitation will begin after 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton.
Mrs. Peters was born on Oct. 25, 1917 in Grundy County, the daughter of Ernest and Gladys Gass Provorse. She was raised east of Trenton and graduated from Trenton High School. She attended Trenton Junior College before attending Kirksville State Teachers College. She taught in rural schools in Grundy County for a few years.
She was married on Aug. 8, 1945 at Malmo, NE to Leo Floyd Peters, who preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1992. They lived most of their married lives in Trenton, where they owned and operated Peters Electrical and Refrigeration. She started as a paraprofessional in the 1970s at the Rissler School and worked there until she retired in 1998.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, Lee Peters and his wife, Laura, of Trenton; two daughters, Barbara, now Mrs. Don Schneider of Washington, MO and Beverly, now Mrs. Richard Naumann of Chesterfield; and six grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Peters; and a sister Mabel Neely.
