Zelma Maxine “Bobby” Oliver, a 94-year-old resident of Leon, IA, died on Monday, Jan. 23, 2006 at the Westview Acres Care Center in Leon.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Lineville, IA. Pastor Terry Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Lineville.

Open visitation is under way at the funeral home, where a family visitation will be held form 7 to 8 o’clock tonight ( Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006).

Mrs. Oliver was born on Dec. 11, 1911 in Decatur County, IA near Woodland, the daughter of Richard and Eliza Forsythe Owens. She attended country school near Woodland and lived the majority of her life in Lineville. She was married on Jan. 24, 1936 to Earl “Pete” Oliver, who preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 1981. She moved to Leon, IA in 1981 after the death of her husband.

She was a homemaker and helped her husband farm. They attended rodeos and horse shows. She enjoyed spending time in the garden needlepoint and quilting.

She is survived by one son, L.C. Oliver and his wife, Patty, of Leon; three grandchildren, David Oliver and his wife, Tressa, of Indianola, IA, Kathy Smith and her husband, David, of Leon, and Kristi Minnick and her husband, Tim, of Leon; 11 great-grandchildren, Justin and Madison Oliver, Whitney, Cody and Dakotah Wessel, Tyson, Tiara and Taylorann Smith and Annalise, Keaton and Kole Minnick; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Tommy, Tony, Bill and Jack Owens; and one sister, Ellen Fuller.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Evergreen Cemetery. They may be mailed to the funeral home at 310 W. Third St., Lineville, IA 50147.
