Ada Eleanor Tolle, a 97-year-old resident of excelsior Springs, died on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006 at the Liberty Terrace Care Center in Liberty. She is a former Chillicothe resident.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens at Chillicothe.
A family visitation will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. General visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006.
Mrs. Tolle was born on Jan. 4, 1909 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Daniel Jacob and Ola Della Murdock Bowman. She was married on Jan. 19, 1955 to John E. Tolle, who preceded her in death on March 2, 1992.
Mrs. Tolle graduated from Chillicothe High School and the Chillicothe Business College. She was a homemaker and seamstress. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Chillicothe, the RSVP of Chillicothe, the Mary Martha Club, the Sunday School class at UMC, the Royal Neighbors Club, the Livingston County Historical Society and the VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by one son Rex Jack Holt Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Gladstone; one sister, Geneva Goucher of Excelsior Springs; two grandchildren, John Holt of Gladstone and Cindy Miller of Waterloo, IA; four great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Rachel, Matthew and Justin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Earl and Merle Bowman; one infant sister; and one other sister, Naida Bowman Wells.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the United Methodist Church or the Chillicothe Senior Center. They may be left at or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home at PO Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
