David Roland Epperson, a 69-year-old resident of Laredo, died on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006 at his home.

David Roland Epperson, a 69-year-old resident of Laredo, died on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006 at his home.

There will be a private family service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006 at Lindley Funeral Home in Laredo. A family visitation will follow from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial celebration honoring his life will be held on July 23, 2006 at the family farm. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lindley Funeral Home.

Mr. Epperson was born Oct. 5, 1936, the son of Daniel Roland “Brig” and Annette Smart Epperson in Hale. He spent his childhood in the Sumner community and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1954.

He was married in July 1955 in Menton to Pegg,y Callaham, who isurvives of the home.

Mr. Epperson was a lifelong farmer in the Laredo community and was a member of the Sumner Methodist Church. He enjoyed attending his grandchildrens’ ballgames, FFA and other school activities, farming and tending to his cattle.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Michael R. Epperson and his wife, Tawny, of Laredo, Andrew L. Epperson and his wife, Debbie, of Laredo, D. Bruce Epperson and his wife, Kelly, of St. Joseph and M. Shane Epperson of Laredo; two daughters, Cynthia L. Foster and her husband, David, of Laredo, and Stacia M. Slagle and her husband, Troy, of Maysville; his mother, Annette Epperson of Sumner; one sister, Anita Dwyer of California; 12 grandchildren, Nathan and Eric Bland, Colby, Kari and Logan Epperson, Hilary Kramer, Jacob Epperson, Torria, Camarie, Ian and Kavan Slagle and Colton Epperson; and one great-grandchild, Makenzee Epperson.

He was preceded in death by his father.
