Dean Bowman, a 70-year-old resident of Wheeling, died on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006 at the Liberty Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan 18, 2006 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the Wheeling Cemetery.
A family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17 2006 at the funeral home. General visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bowman was born on Sept. 25, 1935 in Wheeling, the son of Merle and Lena Scovill Bowman. He was a 1953 graduate of Wheeling High School and lived in Wheeling his whole life. He worked at Donaldson’s as a supervisor for over 36 years. He also served in the Army and enjoyed boating, reading and spending time with his family.
He was married on March 17, 1962 in Chillicothe to Carren M. Funk, who preceded him in death on Oct. 21, 2002.
He is survived by one son, Rob Bowman and his wife, Lisa, of Kearney; one daughter, Denise Wayman and her husband, Gary, of Wheeling; one brother, John Bowman and his wife, Sharon, of Ft. Worth, TX; one sister, Shirley Breeden and her husband, Bill, of Chilicothe; one step-sister, Dottie Duncan of Chillicothe; four grandchildren, Brianna and Makayla Bowman of Kearney and Shelby and Joshua Wayman of Wheeling; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Danny Bowman; one sister, Darlene Wilder; his step-mother Gertrude Bowman; two step-brothers, Max Coburn and Kenny Coburn; and one step-sister, Bette Peer.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Wheeling Cemetery. They may be left at or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home at PO Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
