Pete Breting, who has served as director of the Families and Friends of the Developmentally Disabled in Grundy County and the New Horizons Board in Livingston County has announced his resignation, effective Dec. 31.

Breting, whose resignation was accepted during separate meetings of the two boards, has served in his position for 11 years and has accepted the executive director position for similar duties in Camden County. A committee composed of members of both the Grundy and Livingston county boards will serve as a search committee, accepting resumes until Jan. 11. The board will be looking for someone with at least three years experience in the developmental disabilities field and at least a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in a human services field. It is hoped to have a new director in place by March to oversee management functions of the two county boards.
