Robert Scott, a 65-year-old Spickard resident, died at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005 at Sunnyview Nursing Home at Trenton, where he had been under hospice care for the past two days.

Robert Scott, a 65-year-old Spickard resident, died at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005 at Sunnyview Nursing Home at Trenton, where he had been under hospice care for the past two days.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. today (Monday, Dec. 5, 2005) at the Brethern Cemetery in Sheridan.

Mr. Scott was born on Jan. 17, 1940, the son of Loyd R. and Helen A. Thummel Scott. He was married to Marlyn Monday in Worth County on March 21, 1959. He was later married to Coleen Crawford Barnes in Trenton on Aug. 5, 1984. She survives of the home.

Mr. Scott served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1965. He had been a resident of Spickard since 1986. He retired from Watsons Truck Line, where he worked as an over the road truck driver. He was a member of the Tenth Street Baptist Church of Trenton.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Scott is survived by two sons, Mark A. Scott and Bradley D. Scott, both of St. Joseph; two step-daughters, Debbie Hysten of Topeka, KS and Diane Barnes of Cincinatti, OH; a step-son, Larry Dewayne Barnes of Chillicothe; a brother, Larry D. Scott of Parnell; four grandchildren, Tyler J. Scott, Aaron Scott, Emily Scott, Katie Scott; and five step-grandchildren, Jordan Hysten, Erin Hysten, Mandy Barnes, Wendy Lamp and Katie Barnes.

Memorial contributions have been suggested to the P.A.T.C.H., Wright Memorial Hospice or Tenth Street Baptist Church.
