Stephen C. Travis, a 55-year-old of Liberty, died on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 at the North Kansas City Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005 at the Fry-Bross and Spidle Chapel in Kearney. Burial will be in the Glenridge Cemetery at Liberty.
A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, 2005 at the funeral home.
Mr. Travis was born on March 2, 1950 in Trenton, the son of Roy William and Martha Martin Travis. He was raised in rural Princeton and graduated in 1968 from Princeton High School. He was married on Oct. 11, 1969 to Patricia Tharp, who survives of the home. He lived in Liberty for 36 years. He was a former production manager for Midwest Hanger for 33 years and had worked in Liberty, Kansas City and Cameron. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting deer and fishing. He also enjoyed long country drives, especially during the autumn season.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Tonya Peterson and her husband, Brad, and Denise Stamper and her husband, Steve, all of Lawson; a sister, Marilyn Rainey of King City; two brothers, David Travis of Spickard and Martin Travis of Salina, KS; and three grandchildren, Kalie, Abby and Myah.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William “Bill” Travis.
