Lloyd Elwood Allnutt Sr., an 86-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005 at Cameron Regional Hospital in Cameron.

Lloyd Elwood Allnutt Sr., an 86-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005 at Cameron Regional Hospital in Cameron.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005 at the Free Methodist Church in Chillicothe. Rev. Jim Berlin officiated.
Special music was provided by Nellie Jo Gaston, who sang “In the Garden”, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Just As I Am.”
Pallbearers were Corey Allnutt, Lloyd Allnutt, Matthew Walker, Jim Burton, Richard Crane, Austin Crane and Alex Crane.
Burial was in the Honey Creek Chapel Cemetery near Dunlap, under the direction of the Lindley Funeral Home of Chillicothe.
Mr. Allnutt was born on Aug. 31, 1919, son the son of Freddie Dean and Hattie Mae Shelton Allnutt of Dunlap.
He married on Aug. 27, 1938 in Kansas City to Nellie Josephine Ash, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Allnutt joined the Army Air Corp in 1942 and served with the 51st Fighter Control Squadron. After returning from World War II, he and his wife purchased the Windmoor Gardens, which consisted of a gas station and a dance hall. He later added a cafe, motel, antiques, liquor store and car museum, and renamed the business Windmoor City. He retired at age 80.
He was a member of the Free Methodist Church, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Allnutt is survived by a son, Freddie Allnutt and his wife, Pat, of Hillsboro, KS; two daughters, Pamela Walker and her husband, Mark, of Shawnee, KS, and Gracie Bonderer and her husband, Mark, of Chillicothe; a daughter-in-law, Lulu Mae Allnutt of St. Joseph; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd Elwood Allnutt Jr.; a brother, Orville Allnutt; and a sister, Goldie Foster.
