Barbara C. Miller, a 76-year-old resident of the Dunlap community, east of Trenton, died on Thursday afternoon Oct. 27, 2005 at the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.

Barbara C. Miller, a 76-year-old resident of the Dunlap community, east of Trenton, died on Thursday afternoon Oct. 27, 2005 at the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, 2005 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton. Rev. Paul Persell will officiate. Burial will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Trenton.
A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005 at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of Jeff Mathews at 302 Sunnyside Drive in Trenton.
Mrs. Miller was born on Nov. 11, 1928 in Trenton, the daughter of Alexander Ellsworth and Elizabeth Fern Archer Sheppard. She attended Trenton schools. She was employed by Trenton Foods for 29 years before her retirement. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Trenton.
She was married to Vernon E. Miller, who preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 1995.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Sampson and her husband, Harry, of Galt; one sister, Violet Sheppard of Chillicothe; a companion, Bernard Marsh of the home; two brothers, William Sheppard of Roseburg, OR and Kenneth Sheppard of Trenton; six grandchildren, Lisa Byers of Princeton, Rene Brown of Osgood, Sandy McBreen of Mech, MD, Jeff Mathews of Trenton, David Sampson of Trenton and Tim Sampson of Gladstone; 15 grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Reta Gannon, Ethel Mae Stratton, Bonnie Booth, Ruby Stokes and Edith Durman; one brother, Ralph Sheppard; one son; and one great-granddaughter.
