Leone E. Trask, a 75-year-old resident of 2308 Park Lane in Trenton, died on Wednesday evening, Oct. 26, 2005 at the Select Speciality Hospital of Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park, KS.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005 at the Tenth Street Baptist Church in Trenton. Rev. Ron Ratliff and Rev. Jim Whitley will officiate. Burial will be in the Galt East Cemetery in Galt.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 at Slater Funeral Home.
Mrs. Trask, was born on Dec. 22, 1929 in Farson, IA, the daughter of Clarence Leroy and Dorothy Elizabeth Wilkinson Mefford. She graduated from Galt High School.
She was married on Dec. 26, 1950 at Galt to William A. Trask, who preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1997.
She and her husband, who was in the military, lived in several places during their married life, including Coperas Cove, TX, Laredo, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD, Germany, back to Coperas Cove, TX, and then to Trenton after his retirement.
She was a member of Tenth Street Baptist Church and Joseph L. Norton VWF Post No. 919 Women’s Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters, Terri Matousek and her husband, John, of Hennessey, OK and BeBa Cerri and husband, Mauricio, of Suwanee, GA; three sons, Michael Trask and his wife, Linda, of Leawood, KS, Tracy Trask and Dawn of Laredo; and Casey Trask and his wife, Joyce, of Trenton; one sister, Mildred Kimzey of Trenton; and one brother, Harold Mefford, of Cameron; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Doris Fleener; two brothers, Paul Mefford and Wilbur Mefford; and one grandson.
The family has suggested memorials be made to Tenth Street Baptist Church. They may be left at the funeral home.
