Funeral services for Margaret M. Broyles will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005 at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. Rev. Bill Stanturf will officiate. Burial will be in the Stucker Cemetery, southeast of Trenton.
A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005 at the funeral home. An open visitation begins at 9 a.m. on Wednesday. The family will be staying at the Jerry Engelman residence at 538 20th St., Laredo.
Mrs. Broyles, an 84-year-old former resident of the Trenton area, died on Monday, Oct. 17, 2005 at the Willow Springs Health Care of Willow Springs.
Mrs. Broyles was born on March 20, 1921 at Chula, the daughter of Clinton and Bertha Jone Johnson. She was married on June 11, 1938 to Gomer Broyles, who preceded her in death on May 7, 1977. She worked at Wright Memorial Hospital as a dietitian and janitor until her retirement. She was family-oriented and proud of her grandchildren. She was a member of the Trenton Baptist Church.
Mrs. Broyles is survived by two daughters, Janet Hiers and her husband, Ted, of Willow Springs and Marlene Engleman and her husband, Jerry, of Laredo; a sister, Verna Spencer and her husband, Quentine, of Eldon; two grandchildren, Eric McClaskey and his wife, Ashley, of Shawnee, KS, and Stacy Zorn and her husband, Andy, of Willow Springs; three step-grandchildren, Joey Hiers of Springfield, Teddy Hiers of Little Rock, AR, and Erica Eakes of Princeton; and a great-grandson, Josh Hicks of Willow Springs.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Paul E. and William K. Johnson; and an infant sister.
