Ernest Holloway, a 74-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 10:50 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, where he had been a patient for a few hours.

Ernest Holloway, a 74-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 10:50 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, where he had been a patient for a few hours.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial will follow military graveside rites at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton. There is no scheduled family visitation.
Mr. Holloway was born on April 11, 1931 at Laredo, the son of Clifford and Opal Huffman Holloway. He was raised by his grandparents, Clarence and Maggie Ishmael. He attended school at Laredo, then joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge, he moved to Trenton.
He was married on Aug. 19, 1952 to Sharon Y. Prichett, who preceded him in death on Aug. 18, 1982. He began employment at Nisbeth Seidel in 1952 and worked there as a parts manager for 31 years. He worked at various car dealers in the area and was self-employed for a few years until he began working at the Crown Service until he retired.
He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, the Joseph L. Norton VFW Post No. 919 and the Major Dale Stepp American Legion Post No. 31, all of Trenton.
He is survived by two sons, Marvin Holloway and his wife, Kim, of Trenton and Jerry Holloway and his wife, Beverly, of Richmond; two daughters, Patti, now Mrs. Jim Norris, and Sue, now Mrs. Barry Chenoweth, both of Trenton; two brothers, Clifford Holloway Jr. of Lee’s Summit and Larry Holloway of Belton; five sisters, Patty Anderson and Wanda Anderson, both of Chillicothe, Darlene Wolfe of Nevada, MO, Cleo Simmons of Wichita, KS and Jenny Connley of Las Vegas, NV: seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his dog, Daisy Mae.
The family suggests memorials to the Green Hills Animal Shelter. They can be left at or mailed to the Resthaven Mortuary at PO Box 587, Trenton, MO 64683.
