Darlene Fassnacht, a 60-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 3:51 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005 at her home, where she was undergoing hospice care.

Darlene Fassnacht, a 60-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 3:51 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005 at her home, where she was undergoing hospice care.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, 2005 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial will be in the Christian Union Cemetery, northwest of Brimson.
Open visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005 at the mortuary, where a family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 o’clock that evening.
Mrs. Fassnacht was born on Feb. 17, 1945 in Seattle, WA, the daughter of Tracy and Grace Strathem Newton. She moved to Gilman City in 1965. She was married in Bethany on July 16, 1965 to Leo J. Fassnacht, who survives of the home. The couple moved to Trenton in 1969.
She attended the Coon Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Leo Fassnacht Jr. of Trenton; two daughters, Leona Ricketts and her husband, Kirby, of Trenton, and Josephine Johnson and her husband, Lloyd, of Brimson; a nephew raised as a son, Jack Hilliard of Bethany; two brothers, Jay Newton and Clint Newton of Trenton; three sisters, Josephine Pruitt of Bethany, Hannah Slayder of King City and Glenna Leonard of Centralia, WA; and two grandchildren, Amanda and Derek Ricketts of Trenton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Willard Newton; two sisters, Glova Jean Patterson and Mary Marie Kromack; and a four-year-old son, Clinton Jerold Fassnacht.
The family suggests memorials to the Christian Union Cemetery or the Hedrick Medical Center Hospice Services.
