The Trenton Trailblazers 4-H Club will be conducting a fund-raiser for victims of Hurricane Katrina by being “homeless” for a weekend.
Beginning Friday night, members will build a “home” from cardboard boxes, then live in those structures in the parking lot of the Hy-Vee Food Store, where they will be until 10 a.m. on Sunday. Each member is being given $5, which is to be used for food they have available to them for meals throughout the weekend. During that time, members will be collecting monetary donations, which will be given to the American Red Cross for its hurricane relief efforts. Canned food items will also be accepted, which will be donated to the local food pantry.
For more information, persons can contact Stacy Russell at 359-4012 (evenings).
