A Child Development Partner-ship has developed between North Central Missouri College and Central Methodist University in conjunction with the Green Hills Head Start Program.

Students from North Central Missouri College and staff members from the Green Hills Head Start will now have the opportunity to begin coursework provided by Central Methodist University of Fayette.

The goal of the program is to offer an associate of arts degree in applied science from NCMC transferring to a bachelor of science degree with a major in child development from CMU beginning as early as January 2006.

A signatory celebration of this articulation agreement will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20 in the Frey Administrative Center on the NCMC campus. Dr. Neil Nuttall, president of North Central Missouri College, and Central Methodist President Dr. Marianne Inman will officially complete the agreement with the signing.

An orientation and organizational meeting will then follow at 7:30 p.m. in Hoffman Hall on the campus of North Central Missouri College. A team from Central Methodist will be on hand to explain the program, discuss the course sequence leading up to the start of classes and entertain questions from prospective students.

The Child Development Partnership Program is open to students who are enrolled in and/or graduated from NCMC. Teachers and teacher aides from the Green Hills Head Start Program are also encouraged to participate in this educational opportunity as well as any other interested students.

Persons with questions about this exciting new program should contact NCMC counselor Linda Flentje in Trenton at 359-3948, ext. 404 or contact her by e-mail at HYPERLINK [email protected] or contact Dr. Gale Hairston on the CMU campus at 660-248-6393, ext. 6337 or by email at HYPERLINK [email protected].
