The Trenton R-9 Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the new district office, located at 1607 Normal St.
Items on the announced agenda include acceptance of resignations, discussion of MSHSAA cooperative sports programs, discussion of the Grundy County Biohazard Plan, approval of the annual secretary of the board report, maintenance building bids, the MSBA/MASA fall conference, proposed high school graduation requirements, the Newton summer school payment and the first day of school information. An executive session for real estate is also planned.
Prior to the board meeting, a public hearing will be held on the proposed tax levy for 2005-2006. The hearing will be at 5:15 p.m. at the district office. A levy of $4.44 on the $100 assessed valuation is being proposed, including 90 cents for debt service and $3.54 for general revenue. This is 7 cents less than the levy assessed last year.
