Loris Lee Griffin, a 72-year-old resident of Princeton, died at 11:41 a.m. on Monday, July 4, 2005 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.

Loris Lee Griffin, a 72-year-old resident of Princeton, died at 11:41 a.m. on Monday, July 4, 2005 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.. on Thursday, July 7, 2005 at the Cainsville Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow military graveside rites at the Hamil-ton Cemetery, west of Modena.

Open visitation is under way at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. There will also be an open visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday at the church.

Mr. Griffin was born on May 21, 1933 at Spickard, the son of Oral and Zelma Hamilton Griffin. He graduated in 1951 from Spickard High School, then served in the U.S. Navy from July 17, 1951 to July 11, 1955. He worked for the Griffin Wheel Company in Kansas City, KS for 30 years before retiring and moving to the Princeton area 16 years ago.

He was married on July 12, 1923 in Trenton to Evelyn Mae Hunt, who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Paula Renee Green of Overland Park, KS, Cynthia Nanette Lahmann and her husband, Jim, of Kansas City, KS, and Brenda Eloris Griffin Myers of Kansas City, KS; one brother, Wayne Griffin of Lee’s Summit; one sister, Cecila Sweany of Atlanta, GA; six granddaughters, Liberty, Melissa, Lindsay, Michele, Leigha and Desiree; and seven great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tim Lee Griffin; a son-in-law, Orea Myers Jr.; three sisters, Geniva Schramm, Patsy Redmond and Rebecca Fanska; and two infant sisters.

The family has suggested donations to the Hamilton Cemetery. They may be left at or mailed to the Resthaven Mortuary at PO Box 587, Trenton, MO 64683.
