The city of Trenton and Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the fourth annual Independence Day Celebration in Trenton, which this year will be held on Saturday, July 2.

The city of Trenton and Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the fourth annual Independence Day Celebration in Trenton, which this year will be held on Saturday, July 2.
The event begins at 7 a.m. at the Trenton Municipal Airport, beginning with a breakfast served by Preceptor Nu chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. The Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors will have a concession stand with drinks early in the morning and will then have food available for purchase, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
A fly-in, featuring several airplanes, is also planned and will continue until around 2 p.m.
Evening activities begin at 7 o’clock at C.F. Russell Stadium and will include musical entertainment and fireworks. The Chamber Board of Directors will be serving food that evening.
Entertainment during the evening program will include Jesse Miller, a vocalist from Princeton; Anita Ewing, a vocalist from Trenton; Kile Brewer, a percussionist from Trenton; Michelle Stewart, a dancer from Trenton; Luetta Wilford, an accordionist from Trenton; and the Tenth Street Baptist Church Choir.
Be-Boppin’ Dave and Techno Tim will be providing the sound for the entertainment and A.M. Pyrotechnics will have the fireworks display. Donations to help cover the cost of the fireworks are still being accepted at the Chamber, with several businesses and individuals having already made a contribution. Estimated cost of the fireworks show is around $3,000.
