Donald Dean Fowler, a 60-year-old resident of Mercer, died on Friday, June 17, 2005 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.

Donald Dean Fowler, a 60-year-old resident of Mercer, died on Friday, June 17, 2005 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m.on Monday, June 20, 2005 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville, IA. Rev. Max Carmichael officiated.
Mr. Fowler was born on Jan. 24, 1945 in Lake City, IA, the son of Clarence and Vernice Lucille Wright Fowler. He gradated in 1963 from Rockwell City, IA, Community High School. He worked for the Somers Elevator in Somers, IA and was a member of the Top Rail Saddle Club in Lake City, where he, his father and brother showed wagon hitch teams at local fairs and parades. He moved to the Princeton/Mercer area in 1971, raising cattle and horses. He was owner of the world champion Appaloosa cutting horse, ?Rebals Precisively.? He was employed in 1994 as a barn manager for Premium Standard Farms.
He was a member of the Princeton United Methodist Church. He enjoyed camping and working with cattle and horses.
He was married in 1992 to Linda Hellwig, who survives of the home.
He is also survived by two step-sons, Al Blakesley of Princeton and Dirk Blakesley and his wife, Annette, of Augusta, KS: two grandchildren, Trace and Delaney Blakesley of Augusta; a sister-in-law, Judy Fowler of Rockwell City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Kelly Fowler.
