Nyleen Murphy, an 88-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 7:25 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2005 at the home of a nephew in Trenton, where she had been under hospice care.

Nyleen Murphy, an 88-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 7:25 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2005 at the home of a nephew in Trenton, where she had been under hospice care.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2005 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial will be at the Milan Oakwood Cemetery in Milan.
Open visitation will begin at noon on Saturday, June 18, 2005 at the mortuary.
Miss Murphy was born on July 13, 1916 in Sullivan County, the daughter of Carry Sylvester and Mattie Bonnie Murphy. She graduated in 1934 from Humphreys High School and attended the Chillicothe Business School in 1940. From 1941 until 1944, she worked for the Missouri Power and Light at Mexico, MO. She joined the Army in 1944, serving in World War II until being discharged in 1946. She then resided in Blue Springs and Kansas City until moving to Trenton in 1998.
She is survived by five nephews, Danny Murphy of Trenton, Ronnie Murphy of Reger, Jerry Murphy of Fulton, Emery Wayne Murphy of Tucson, AZ and Byron Murphy of LaCoste, TX; four nieces, Mary Jane Artz of Marceline, Patsy Smith of Chillicothe, Isabelle Hart of St. Louis and Joyce Vachal of Stanley, ND; and a lifelong friend, Donna Henderson of Trenton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Marvin Murphy, William Murphy and Clifford Murphy; and a sister, Hyacinth Murphy Fitz.
