Funeral services for Thorton Moore will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2005 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.

A family visitation will be held one hour prior to the time of the service on Thursday.

Mr. Moore, a 91-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 8:05 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, where he had been a resident since May 8, 2002.

Mr. Moore was born on June 19, 1913 at Jamesport, the son of Scott and Lucy Daniels Moore. He was a graduate of Jamesport High School.

He was married on March 6, 1937 in Trenton to Mabel Rosenbaum, who preceded him in death on May 30, 2001. They moved in 1942 south of Trenton, where he farmed.

He was a member of the Liberty Chapel Christian Church, where he served as an elder.

Mr. Moore is survived by one son, Jim Moore, and his wife, Alice, of Trenton; one daughter, Jan England and her husband, J.W., of Chillicothe; nine grandchildren, Rhonda Fisher and her husband, Mark, of Greentop, Terry England and his wife, Sheryl, of Pella, IA, Gary England and his wife, Deanna, of Novinger, Marla Moore of Sedalia, Lisa Bird and her husband, Steve, of Otterville, Mindy Ruckman and her husband, Bryan, of Sedalia, Russell Moore and his wife, Misty, of Branson, Monte Moore of Branson and Holly Moore and her fiance, Dan Welsh, of Columbia; a sister-in-law, Midge Rosenbaum of Springfield; seven great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; three brothers, Merritt, Baker and George; and two sisters, Beatrice Moore and Lorraine Price.

The family suggests memorials to the Liberty Chapel Christian Church or the Shiloh Children’s Home. They may be left at or mailed to the Resthaven Mortuary at PO Box 587, Trenton, MO 64683.
