Audrey Gerred Beckley, an 85-year-old resident of Kansas City, died on Saturday, June 11, 2005 at her home.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at the Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, KS. A reception will follow. There will be private graveside services.

A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at the Newcomer?s Floral Hills in Kansas City.

Mrs. Beckley was born on Sept. 18, 1919 on her grandfather Morrison?s farm southeast of Spickard, the daughter of Robertson Moore and Nell Shipps. She grew up in Trenton and graduated from Trenton High School in 1937. She was married in 1938 to Glen Gerred, who preceded her in death. They moved to Kansas City in 1940.

She was a charter member of the Ruskin Heights Baptist Church and worked as a teller for the United Missouri Bank of Hickman Mills for 21 years. She enjoyed accompanying her husband, Dale Beckley, on Ararat Shrine Drum Crops trips, reading and quilting.

Mrs. Beckley is survived by one son, Glen Gerred of the home; four daughters, Linda Scott and her husband, Richard, of Ft. Worth, TX, Glenda Watts of Prairie Village, KS, Mona Chaw and her husband, Gary, of Pleasant Hill, CA, and Alice Gowler and her husband, Randy, of Merriam, KS; two step sons, Bill Beckley and his wife, Julie and Clark Beckley and his wife, Brenda, of Lee’s Summit; 14 grandchildren, Erika Scott, Ron and Carrie Garner, Justin Watts, Amy and Stephen Chaw, Rachel Ward, Chris and Scott Beckley, Gina Seagreaves, Rob, Ryan and Joe Beckley and Raemee Knepper; five great-grandchildren, Chase and Garett Garner, Koby Watts, Jack Beckley and Abigail Knepper; an aunt, Neville Young of Spickard; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Glen Gerred and Dale Beckley; a grandson, Donald Glen Gowler; a brother, Glenn Moore; and a sister, Marjorie Moore.

The family suggests memorials to the Kansas City Hospice or to a charity of the donor?s choice.
