Esther Mae Wilder, a 90-year-old resident of Lineville, IA, died Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. today (Tuesday, May 31, 2005) at the Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville. Rev. Max Carmichael officiated under the direction of the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service of Lineville.

Mrs. Wilder was born June 26, 1914 east of Lineville, the daughter of Albert Calvin and Lulu May Jones Nickell.

She lived all of her life in the Lineville and Clio, IA, communities, where she was a farm wife. She was a member of the Lineville Baptist Church and also attended the Lineville Assembly of God Church.

She was united in marriage to Ralph Emmitt Wilder, who preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 1986.

She is survived by three grandchildren, Carol Sue Welch of Des Moines, IA, Dusty Wilder and his companion, Melissa of Lineville, and Mitchell Thomas and his wife, Karen also of Lineville; four-great-grandchildren, Larry Welch, Jr., Amanda Joan, Brittany Cheyenne and Colton Emmitt Wilder; two step-great-grandchildren, Marlene Sanderson and Bonnie Fairchild; one sister, Pauline Waldron and her husband, John of Davenport, IA; four brothers, Paul Nickell and his wife, Louise, of Lineville, Earl Nickell of Humeston, IA, Gilbert Nickell and his wife, Norma of Renwick, IA, and Lewis Nickell and his wife, Janice of Eagle Grove, IA; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Nickell of Corydon, IA and Maxine Nickell of Clio; and by many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wilder was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Mae Thomas; a son, Carol Wilder; two sisters, Iola Mulvania and MaryBelle Keaton; and by two brothers, A.C. and Calvin Nickell.
