Donald H. Moore, a 56-year-old resident of Lee’s Summit died on Sunday, April 10, 2005 at the North Kansas City Hospital after a long battle with cancer and other complications.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton. Pastor Guy Olin Thomas will officiate. Open visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, with a family visitation at 2 p.m. until service time.
Mr. Moore was born on Feb. 2, 1949 in Trenton, the son of Hudson and Helen Swingle Moore. He was raised in Mercer County and graduated from Princeton High School in 1967. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving there from 1969 to 1971 and was stationed in Germany for one year. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and a good joke. He also enjoyed farming, the country and working in his workshop. He was employed by Mid-State Excavating as a machine equipment operator. He was a member of Operating Engineers Union No. 101.
He was married in August 1993 to Vickie Hagan, who survives of the home.
He is also survived by one daughter, Azure Magee of Kansas City; his parents, Hudson and Helen Moore of Princeton; one sister, Nancy Ingassia of Kearney; his twin brother, Dan Moore of Kansas City; his mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, Mary and Harrison Vowell of Cainsville; a brother-in-law, Jerry Hagan; two sisters-in-law, Pat Henley of Junction City, KS, and Janet Brown of Excelsior Springs; eight nieces, Rochelle Hearns and her husband, Randy, Michelle Fillpot and her husband, Barry, Cindy Henley, Cheri Koke and her husband, Andrew, Julie McFee and her husband, Joe, Brandy Kvasnicka and her husband, Shawn, and Angela and Ashley Hagan; one aunt, Norma Delzel; three cousins, Laura, Linda and David Delzel; four great-nieces and two great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dewey and Anna Moore and Cal and Vaye Swingle; two uncles, Earl Moore and Max Delzel; a son, Devie; a father-in-law, Carty Hagan; and a brother-in-law, Bob Hagan.
