uneral services for Charles Kilburn will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial will follow military graveside rites in the Stucker Cemetery near Laredo.

A scheduled family visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. General visitation is under way at the funeral home.

Mr. Kilburn, a 65-year-old former Grundy County resident, died at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Columbia, where he had been a patient since Dec. 16, 2004.

Mr. Kilburn was born on March 8, 1940 in Livingston County, the son of Edgar and Kathryn Paramore Kilburn. He was raised south of Trenton and graduated in 1957 from Trenton High School. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1960 and served in Vietnam. He retired from the service in 1980. After his retirement, he resided in Alabama until moving to Columbia.

He is survived by one son, David Kilburn and his wife, Peggy, of Deatsville, AL; a daughter, Pamela Simmons of Millbrook, AL; his mother, Kathryn Kilburn of Columbia; a brother, Billy Joe Kilburn and his wife, Darlene, of Columbia; and six grandchildren, Daniel, Derek and Holli Simmons and Joshua, Robert and Stephanie Kilburn.

He was preceded in death by his father.
