Frank J. Cornwell, a 97-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Monday morning, April 25, 2005 at the Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at the Crandall United Methodist Church in Trenton. Rev. Mike Moore and Rev. Robert Burkeybile will officiate. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
A family visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the church. The body is at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton.
Mr. Cornwell was born on Jan. 16, 1908 in Spickard, the son of Issac and Callie Fisher Cornwell. He attended Grundy County rural schools. He was employed by Trenton Foods and self-employed as a tree trimmer. He was a member of the Crandall United Methodist Church and Grand River Lodge No. 52, IOOF, both of Trenton.
He was married at Brookfield on Nov. 11, 1941 to Myrtle Miller, who survives of the Eastview Manor Care Center.
He is also survived by one son, Lewis Cornwell of Crestwood; one step-son, Arthur Miller of Mason City, IA; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Clarence and Ruth McCollum of Trenton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one step-son, Jerry McCollum; one sister, Lera Mullins; and by five brothers, Roy Cornwell, Albert Cornwell, Merle Cornwell, Guy Cornwell and Herbert Cornwell.
