Mildred M. Collins, a 100-year-old former resident of the Trenton, Laredo and Galt communities, died at 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at the Park Dale Manor Care Center of Maryville, just two days after her 100th birthday anniversary.

Mildred M. Collins, a 100-year-old former resident of the Trenton, Laredo and Galt communities, died at 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at the Park Dale Manor Care Center of Maryville, just two days after her 100th birthday anniversary. She had been a patient there since Feb. 8, 2005.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2005 at the Rural Dale Baptist Church, east of Trenton, under the direction of the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home of Trenton. Burial will be in the Rural Dale Cemetery.

A visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday until service time at the church.

Mrs. Collins was born on April 18, 1905 at Trenton, the daughter of Neal Hamilton and Mary Rebecca Dunlap Elliott. She attended Laredo and Trenton schools and spent most of her life on the family farm where she was born. She was married on Dec. 19, 1923 to Arthur Milton Collins, who preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1987.

Mrs. Collins was active in the Rural Dale Baptist Church, serving in various leadership positions, including president of the Grand River Baptist Women?s Association and as pianist and organist for 75 years.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Collins and his wife, Madolyn, of Clark, and Donald Collins and his wife, Delores, of Annandale, VA; a daughter, Kathryn Watkins and her husband, Louis, of Maryville; 19 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and 32-great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Maurice Elliott; and a grandson, Bruce Collins.

The family is suggesting memorial donations to the Rural Dale Baptist Church Building Fund.
