Marquis R. West, a 76-year-old resident of Trenton, died at midnighton Monday, April 4, 2005 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.

Marquis R. West, a 76-year-old resident of Trenton, died at midnight on Monday, April 4, 2005 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.

The body was cremated. A graveside service will be announced at a later date. Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton is handling the arrangements.

Mr. West was born on Sept. 5, 1928 at Princeton, the son of C.R. and Neta Hatfield West. He graduated from Princeton High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was married on Jan. 13, 1957 in Trenton to Pauline Howard, who survives of Trenton. He was a farmer and engineer, retiring from the Rock Island Railroad. He was a member of the Princeton First Christian Church and was a 52-year member of the American Legion.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother, Don West and his wife, Jan, of Roswell, NM; one brother-in-law, Earl Dean Howard and his wife, Dorothy, of Trenton; and four nephews and three nieces, including Kelley Howard and Robert E. Howard, both of Trenton; and Donna Veatch of Butler.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
