Edoth Estella Lovett, a 90-year-old resident of Clio, IA, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the Corydon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon, IA.

The body has been cremated under the direction of the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service of Lineville, IA. Inurnment of the ashes will be held at a later date at the Sunny Lane Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK.

Mrs. Lovett was born Nov. 9, 1914 in Putnam County, near Lucerne, the daughter of Elza Don and Susan Margaret Girdner Cochell. She was raised in the Lucerne area and graduated from Mercer High School. She attended the Maryville State Teacher?s College in Maryville for two years, receiving her teacher?s certificate. She taught in Mercer County rural schools for a short time.

She was married to Rush Lovett, who preceded her in death.

After their marriage, the couple moved to Oklahoma City, where they owned and operated a restaurant for a short time before she became employed by the U.S. Air Force as a civilian employee at Tinker Air Force Base. She worked there until her retirement at age 70. She moved from Okla-homa City to Clio in Jan. 1997, where she lived with her niece, Marquetta Rhoades until she entered the nursing home on March 15. Mrs. Lovett loved to be outside, working in her garden and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Mercer Christian Church.

She is survived by two nephews and four nieces.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Lovett was preceded in death by a son, William Lovett; a sister, Twila Beavers; and a brother, Lewis Cochell.
