The Third Judicial Drug Court will hold a graduation ceremony for the first graduates of the program.

The ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, April 4 in the Mercer County Circuit Courtroom, located on the third floor of the courthouse at Princeton. A reception will follow the ceremony, which is open to the public.

The program is offered within the Third Judicial Circuit, comprised of Grundy, Mercer, Harrison and Putnam counties, and is a combination of intensive probation, supervision, intensive drug treatment, frequent drug testing and weekly court appearances designed as an alternative to incarceration for individuals who have a serious substance abuse problem. The program has been in operation for 14 months and, according to Third Judicial Circuit Court Judge Andrew Krohn, has provide to be successful in its inaugural year. There are three individuals who will graduate in the first class, with others scheduled to graduate later in the year.
