Cecil Merle Baker, an 86-year-old resident of the Crestview Home in Bethany died on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at the home.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Forest Cemetery Memorials in Oskaloosa, IA.
General visitation is under way, with a family visitation scheduled for 7 to 8 o?clock tonight (Thursday, March 17, 2005) at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Home in Princeton.
Mrs. Baker was born on March 7, 1919 in Red Cloud, NE, the daughter of Charles Mason and Bertha Metcalf Riggins. She graduated in 1939 from Red Cloud High School.
She was married on Aug. 31, 1945 to James Bernard Baker, who preceded her in death on April 15, 1988.
The couple moved to Tecumseh, NE in 1949 and to Oskaloosa, IA in 1963. Mrs. Baker moved to Princeton in 1999. She was a member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, gardening, baking and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Baker is survived by two daughters, Becky Tudeen and her husband, Steve, of Newtown, and Penny Shepherd and her husband, Robert, of Bethany; a son, Danny Baker and his wife, Connie, of Phoenix, AZ; a sister, Bonita Johns of Lincoln, NE; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Eldon, Wendell, Howard and Chester Riggins.
