The Grundy County Commission met Wednesday morning, opening bids for CART rock for use by townships.

Grundy County Clerk Kristi Urich said the bids from Colonial Limestone of Mercer County and Norris Aggregates of Trenton were the same, $6 per ton. The commissioners decided to allow the individual townships to decide which company to use based on their hauling costs.

Mrs. Urich also said the commission has scheduled a meeting with a representative of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources concerning the closure of the Henderson Landfill near Galt. That meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 22.

Other items on the agenda for Wednesday?s meeting included opening bids for fuel and mowing, meeting with Ambulance Director Steve Tracy and Prosecuting Attorney Jason Spillman and discussing the law enforcement facility.
