Marilyn Horner, a 72-year-old resident of 202 Kitty St. in Trenton, died at 6:17 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2005 at her home, where she was under hospice care.

Marilyn Horner, a 72-year-old resident of 202 Kitty St. in Trenton, died at 6:17 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2005 at her home, where she was under hospice care.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2005 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Trenton. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.

A scheduled family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. A general visitation will begin after 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton.

Miss Horner was born on June 1, 1932 at Trenton, the daughter of Frank M. and Edra Lucille Tyler Horner. She attended and graduated from Trenton High School. She then attended and graduated from Trenton Junior College and attended and graduated from Northwest Missouri State Teachers College at Maryville with a bachelor of science degree in education. After graduating from Northwest, she moved to Nebraska City, NE, where she taught at the School of the Blind. She then moved to Garden City, MI, where she was a teacher. She moved to Muskegon, MI, where she taught visually impaired students in the public school system. She retired from that position and returned to Trenton to make her home in 1993.

She was a member of the Wesley Untied Methodist Church, the Wesley Retirees, AD chapter of PEO, a hospice volunteer and a member of the Wright Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by four sisters, Jean, now Mrs. C.S. Endecott of Trenton, Martha, now Mrs. Ron Landon of El Cajon, CA, Judy, now Mrs. Gordon Joiner of Trenton, and Susan Horner of Kirksville; one brother, Steve Horner of Trenton; 10 nieces and nephews; 27 great-nieces and nephews; and eight great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family suggests memorials to the Wesley United Methodist Church.
