Colton Pierce Eddy, age 1, of Browning, died on Thursday morning, Feb. 24, 2005 at the Northeast Regional Hospital in Kirksville.

Colton Pierce Eddy, age 1, of Browning, died on Thursday morning, Feb. 24, 2005 at the Northeast Regional Hospital in Kirksville.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005 at the Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. Doug Fairley of Newtown officiated. Burial was in the Shatto Cemetery, west of Milan.

Casketbearers were Tony Eddy, Junior Eddy, Ricky Banner and Joey Smith.

Colton was born on Dec. 1, 2003 in Kansas City, the son of Candice Vest and Steve Eddy. He was born with a condition known as gastroschesis and last October was the recipient of a small bowel and liver transplant.

Survivors include his mother, Candice Vest of the home; his father, Steve Eddy of Milan; one sister, Maci Waddle of the home; two brothers, Trace Eddy of Unionville and Dustin Eddy of Winigan; his maternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Cary and Jennie Vest of Phoenix, AZ; his maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Cindy Vest and John Leece of Galt; his maternal great-grandmother, Barbara Day of Galt; his paternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Jerry and Diane Eddy of Milan; several aunts and uncles, including Junior Eddy, Tony Eddy, Jaclyn May, Vanessa Cordray, Krystal Eddy, Alissa Eddy, Chris Keller and Cari Vest; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Beverly Eddy.
