Len J. Urton, an 86-year-old rural Trenton resident, died at 7:35 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 14, 2005 at his home.

Len J. Urton, an 86-year-old rural Trenton resident, died at 7:35 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 14, 2005 at his home.
The body will be cremated. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, 2005 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Brother Danny Wilford will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
A family visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Friday at the mortuary.
Mr. Urton was born on June 11, 1918 in Grundy County, the son of Otis W. and Effie Edwards Urton. He was married on Nov. 12, 1938 at Trenton to Kathryn Moore, who survives of the home. They farmed all their lives on a farm northwest of Galt. He also sold PAG seeds for 20 years. He was a Christian.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Urton is survived by three sons, Larry and Jimmy Urton, both of Galt, and Jerry Urton of Jamesport; three daughters, Lynda Wendt of Monett, Sharon Moberly of Kansas City and Connie Kelsey of Trenton; one sister-in-law, Hortense Urton of Trenton; 14 granddaughters; two grandsons; 24 great-grandchildren; two nieces, Mary Thomas of Trenton and Mary Ann Lavely of Derby, IA; and one nephew, Ronald Urton of Trenton.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Josie McNutt; two brothers, Franklin and Alfred Urton; and a great-grandson, A.J. Dummer.
The family suggests memorial contributions to either the American Cancer Society or to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital in memory of Mr. Urton’s great-grandson, A.J. Dummer.
