Spillman Recommended To Fill Post
The Grundy County Republican Central Committee is recommending that Gov. Matt Blunt appoint interim prosecuting attorney Jason Spillman to fill the two-year unexpired term in Grundy County.
The committee met with Spillman and former prosecuting attorney Jim Holcomb on Thursday night after the committee was asked to interview Spillman on Blunt?s behalf. Holcomb had also indicated an interest in filling the remaining two years of the term, which became vacant with the recent death of Chris Raynes.
According to GOP Central Committee Chairman Gary Black, a letter will be sent to the governor with the committee?s recommendation. It will then be up to Gov. Blunt to make the appointment. No time table has been given as to when the final appointment might be made.
