The Trenton Middle School PTO met Monday night, agreeing to host a forum for the candidates for the Trenton R-9 School Board.
The nine board candidates will be invited to a forum, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, March 29 in the TMS library, in which they will have an opportunity to meet the public and answer pre-determined questions about their interest in serving on the board. Additional details about the forum will be announced at a later date.
In other business, the group voted to pay for one bus for the Children?s Literature Festival, voted to pay for two sewing machines for the FACS classroom at a cost of $290 each and challenged the school district to purchase two more sewing machines, which are needed to replace machines that can no longer be used. Plans were also discussed for the Trivia Night/basket auction, which is scheduled for Friday, April 1.
The next regular PTO meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 7.
