Mildred McKay, an 83-year-old resident of Eastview Manor Care Center at Trenton, died at 8:44 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial will be in the Humphreys Cemetery at Humphreys.
Open visitation begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005. A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at the mortuary.
Mrs. McKay was born on Nov. 20, 1921 in Lindley, the daughter of G.A. “Peck” and Lydia Price Russell. She was married on Easter Sunday in 1940 to Don McKay, who preceded her in death. They lived most of their married lives in the Humphreys area. She worked as a licensed practical nurse at a nursing facility and hospital in Milan.
She was a member of the Humphreys Methodist Church, where she taught Bible study.
She is survived by a daughter, JoLynne Reiser of Overland Park, KS: a son, Jan McKay and his wife, Billie, of Lathrop; two brothers, Victor Russell of Arvada, CO and Noel Dean Russell of Green City; one granddaughter, Jessica Cottrell and her husband, Mike, of Jameson; and two great-grandchildren, Megan and Katie.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Allen Russell and Joel V. Russell.
